Have you find a way to do more with less with the same IT budget yet?
The premise, on which we are building this second company, after we have successfully tackled the IT project challenge, is that we are deeply concerned with a seemingly inescapable trend that IT departments are being locked into, and the trap that most IT departments will most likely be falling into. We call this the IT budget challenge. Since 1980, the proportion of resource being spent by IT department on operations, maintenance and replacement has grown steadily. From an initial 50 % of the budget (1980) it has gone now to around 80%, allowing for some variations across industries. The in-discretionary portion of the IT budget has now swollen to such a extent that little is left to discretionary use. Unfortunately this is exactly when the tipping point for enterprise dependency on IT for the creation of business value began to take hold. The legacy baggage, in other words, is making its toll on IT departments exactly when they need to be nimble and inventive.
For years we see that while there are no shortage of advices, interventions and solutions being offered by the industry to try to reverse the balance, the statistics so far indicates that all these efforts have been rather futile.
We wonder if we could again make a difference. We asked: why can't you do more with less?
We believe we have found a way. This way requires a complex of solutions instead of advocating one panacea. We advocate multiple approaches which you can mix and match. And we will continue to introduce more innovations as we continue to build from strength to strength.
Look what we have been able to do for our clients so far.
